Beechmont Estate
As you ascend the mountain, you’ll notice the outside temperature beginning to drop. The scenic journey up the mountain is breathtaking and Beechmont Estate is the jewel on top. This sweeping 75-acre slice of heaven neighbours the world heritage listed Lamington National Park and is the epitome of country elegance.
There are several accommodation options, including Beechmont Cabins, Hinterland View Cabins, Luxury Pavilions, and the Owner’s Residence. Each one is designed to immerse you in nature, without forgoing life’s little luxuries. Not to mention, they are all in walking distance of the renowned onsite Paddock restaurant – relaxed fine dining celebrating locally sourced produce, from paddock to plate.
All cabins and the Owner’s Residence are equipped with cosy fireplaces, king size bedding, and luxury touches like Salus body products, private decks, and mini bars stocked with locally sourced treats. The Luxury Pavilions offer the best views, overlooking the green hills and polo field. They also feature a roomy bathtub to soak in with a glass of red in hand. Cheers to that!
The Polish Place
A touch of Poland nestled in beautiful Mount Tamborine, The Polish Place offers a unique romantic getaway designed specifically for couples. The views are stunning and the ambiance is enhanced by each cabin’s charming wood-log fireplace – they even provide wood and kindling from May to the end of September each year.
You won’t regret trading the beach for the mountain, with private decks, panoramic views, breakfast basket and a double sized spa in your lounge room. You may even be lucky enough to enjoy a balcony visit from native birds and wildlife. The late check out doesn’t hurt either.
Mount Tamborine is known for its winding walking tracks through rainforest regions, cliffs, and the occasional waterfall. It has a true village feeling and a real sense of history – beginning of course with the Wangerriburra people of the Yugambeh language region many thousands of years ago.
The Bower Cottage
The Bower Estate in Natural Bridge offers a truly dreamy location for a hinterland retreat with the family, friends, or both together. By far the most child-friendly option on this list, the Bower Cottage can accommodate up to 10 people across three bedrooms – perfect for cosy sleepovers with little besties or cousins.
The Cottage is an original farmhouse lovingly restored with a wrap-around verandah and inviting fireplace for marshmallow toasting; a homestead oozing in charm and country character. The verandah is huge, with a 100-person capacity – perfect for hosting an event, or letting the littles run off some energy whilst staying under cover.
During the day you can explore the sprawling 120-acre property, with its secret spots and stunning views, and by night you can cuddle up with a book or a family board game evening as a nourishing meal simmers in the background.
Springbrook Mountain Chalets
The winding voyage up Gold Coast Springbrook Road is truly worth it when you get to the top and experience all that Springbrook has to offer. There is a mystical quality that can’t quite be put into words, and the Springbrook Mountain Chalets are the perfect way to immerse yourself into the wonder of the world heritage listed Gondwana Rainforest.
The jewel in the crown of the plateau, the Chalets offer luxury timber accommodation surrounded by ancient flora, with each one boasting a hot spa and a crackling fireplace for warming up beisde. Add in a good book and glass of sparkling – pure bliss.
For the more adventurous, there are walking trails and waterfalls to explore. Fill your lungs with that crisp mountain air and head out and enjoy a slice of untouched paradise, where you are likely to glimpse an array of native animals in this biodiversity haven.
