Beyond the much-loved open studio weekend, the Trail now adds two extra days of hands-on workshops, inviting you to move between observing, creating and collecting.

After the heartbreak of Bluesfest's cancellation, we wanted this issue to be a full celebration of the arts, creatives and musicians that make this region so uniquely special. And honestly? This might just be our favourite issue yet.

We sat down with the beautiful Julia Stone — talking new album, new baby and the joy that runs through both.

We spent time with the incredible Courtney Monsma, fresh off her season as Glinda in Wicked, on coming home to herself after one of theatre's most iconic roles.
And we finally got to tell the Stone & Wood story. An iconic institution, a business that gives back, and nothing says a Byron winter arvo quite like one of their pale ales in hand.

The music scene here is loud, raw and very much alive. Our cover this issue features the immersive Haven Gallery — and inside we've rounded up all your favourite bars and hotels belting out the good stuff.

Stone Brew Day 2026 — one of my favourite events of the year.
Every winter since 2008, volcanic stones — brought home from Fiji by founder Brad Rogers — are heated over a woodfire then lowered into the kettle. An ancient brewing ritual kept alive in Byron Bay, creating Stone & Wood’s limited-release woodfired porter, Stone Beer.
A behind-the-scenes look at the brew from the very first moment, followed by a beautiful seated dinner. What a night. 🍺
